Update - 06-06-14 - Back to Space

Now that I've added USB and sub-arrays, I think it is time to give Basic a rest. So it's back to Space. Attached below is the latest version. Once you are able to build jump gates, you can travel to other systems. (be sure to plan your trip back). I would start a new game if I were you.

Last year I finished the graphics engine, wrote a game engine on top and created the foundation of the game. This year I will focus on level creation and story arc. When I feel the game is at a minimal playable state, I will release it. Please give me some feedback to help me decide when that time has come.

It takes a while to collect resources, unless I'm missing something here.

salvaging wrecks can speed up the process.

Ya, build a smelter, start mining, build a factory, then you can build stuff. Just touch on the factory to bring up the build screen. You can build jump gates too. Then you can go to other systems. That last version I posted is like the prototype for the real game. Sort of the framework that I will build the real game on. I am currently writing a Game Master class which will run the game at a high level and will apply story modules (kind of like levels). The sim city side of the game is working well. Now I want to add an RPG side to keep it interesting. I imagine it as the sort of game where you can be listening to an audiobook or music in the background while you play.

Chuck, when I click an item to craft it, it shows a blank menu.

I've been having trouble like that, I'm working on it. Is it all the time or can you exit to the launcher and come back and it's there?

I've attached the latest build. The changes are mostly internal. Everything works on my test devices.

Um, If you start a new game I bet you won't be able to build jump gates. I was sort of working on that earlier today. Wasn't planning on a release. I'm currently working on the first story arc. It's a simple scenario with raiders trying to steal your resources. It will be during this first arc that you will discover the data chip which lets you build jump gates.

Ok I was wondering why they were removed. I like the game concept, when can we expect the next reelease

I have a couple suggestions. The materials needed to craft an object should be listed some where. You should also add the ability to produce weapons. I also think the current amount of materials you need is too many. Cool game.

Those are good suggestions. I'll see if I can make the changes this week. I don't know when I'll make a new release. Prob in a week.

something weird about this update.
when I quit tf2, Steam stays that Im still "In Game" with tf2 on my community page and friends list even though I quit the game.
is anyone else getting this?
 
I restarted my computer and still has the issue…
