I need to find a way to input data to a graphics drawing program, that does not affect or ruin whatever is on the "display" could I or is there a way to have a translucent hud, that gives you a sort of a number keypad that does not interfere with the graphics screen in any way? maybe I could limit the screen area to a 1024 by 1024 screen area and use the remaining space for a sort of a virtual keyboard to enter the control data, I just need to be able to enter 1 of 8 directions, and numbers, and maybe some keys to cause the drawing program to fill an area, or move the "cursor" to a new location, so how could I accomplish something like this, either a split screen system or some kind of overlay where It can detect which , of a small number of "virtual buttons" you are pressing, all while it is drawing stuff?
